Rare lace-up peep-toe heels from Matrix Shoes, "Your Footprint in Leather," for Chicago-based department store Carson Pirie Scott & Co, circa 1940s. Oxford pump silhouette with open toe. Black mesh netting body with black patent leather trim and heel. Cut-outs at sides of foot. Lace-up closure. 2" block heel. 0.5" platform. Leather soles. Handwritten size and style info on black leather lining of each shoe. Would have cost $12.95 in early 1940s - nearly $270 today! Very good vintage condition.
